A Patch of Green A small patch of green is all that remains after the surrounding countryside is swallowed up by mud flows from a volcanic eruption.

Island Destruction The remains of buildings destroyed in the 1995 volcanic eruption on the Caribbean island of Montserrat. The island's capital Plymouth was completely buried with mud and ash from pyroclastic flows.

Montserrat The destruction left by the 1995 eruption of the previously dormant Soufrière Hills volcano on the island of Montserrat in the West Indies. The ash and pyroclstic flows buried the island's then capital Plymouth, and this is all that is left.
