Island Destruction The remains of buildings destroyed in the 1995 volcanic eruption on the Caribbean island of Montserrat. The island's capital Plymouth was completely buried with mud and ash from pyroclastic flows.

Montserrat The destruction left by the 1995 eruption of the previously dormant Soufrière Hills volcano on the island of Montserrat in the West Indies. The ash and pyroclstic flows buried the island's then capital Plymouth, and this is all that is left.
